A message from the Director of Human Resources

I am proud to support and lead a team that is committed to building a strong, skilled, and culturally grounded workforce, one that reflects the communities we serve.

We believe in investing in local talent, creating meaningful opportunities for individuals within our member First Nations and surrounding communities. Through collaboration with Unit Supervisors, we offer mentorship and hands-on experience to community members who are exploring careers within our agency. These opportunities help build confidence, knowledge, and a pathway into long-term employment with the agency.

Our recruitment efforts go beyond traditional job postings. We develop community-specific ads that speak directly to local applicants, and we share opportunities widely to ensure accessibility for all. Since launching our Awasis Agency Employment Facebook page, we've seen a significant increase in interest and engagement, demonstrating the value of meeting people where they are.

We are also proud to offer a welcoming onboarding experience, comprehensive orientation, and professional development opportunities that support our staff throughout their journey with the agency.
